Programs

Our chapter selects speakers based on the needs of the chapter. Member Surveys are sent out in the summer and from those responses we book our speakers for the year. If you are interested in recommending someone to speak at our meetings or you would like to be a speaker please email the chairperson. We welcome all speaker and location suggestions. See Events & News for a list of upcoming and past events.
The Corporate Sponsorships position works with the Professional Development Chair, President, and VP on soliciting local businesses to sponsor our meetings. This program has different levels of sponsorship which include meeting signage & logo, website logo/details about the company and information as a sponsor, and significant coverage in our newsletter that goes out to over 200 people locally. Companies and individuals please contact Karen so she can send out our packet of levels and details to be a corporate sponsor.
Hospitality

Hospitality coordinates monthly meetings – confirming dinner reservations with Niagara University, greeting guests, and managing administrative details with the restaurant or banquet facility.

Newsletter & Website

ABWA Niagara Falls Chapter sends out a monthly newsletter via email link. The chair of this committee collects news items submitted by the membership including personal & professional milestones or achievements, events hosted by other members, and committee updates. These items are then published in the newsletter and/or on the website. Item submission deadline is the last Wednesday of each month. Please note companies can purchase ads in our newsletter: business card size for $60 for the year. Click here to buy an ad online
All newsletter submissions should be sent in by the 25th of each month.
Historian
Chairperson: Michele Altman, 716-284-7202
Michele is working with Linda Rafferty and Ruth Gallinger to identify past members and putting several scrapbooks together this year regarding our history. She is also cutting info out of the local paper on members and will be taking pictures at the meetings to place in the book. If you have old photos, news articles, clippings, programs and information from our past, please see Michele so she can add it to our scrap books. We would appreciate it!
Fundraising/Chinese Auction

Our Chinese Auction is in the spring, but we start in September laying out the groundwork for a successful auction. Tickets, baskets, speaker, location, food choices, letters, publicity- we really need all member support to pull off this terrific event. This is our one and only major fund raiser for our group. Please think about donations and asking local business to support us as money raised will go to a local charity and our education/scholarships and working budget for next year for ABWA.
